Lessons on Moving From a Local Organizing Pro

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Hi everyone, I’m Cindy Wezenbeek, owner of CW Organizing, your go-to professional organizer in Dartmouth, Halifax, and the Annapolis Valley. With over 8 years of hands-on experience helping families, seniors, military personnel, and busy professionals declutter, organize, and move, I’m always committed to showing up with transparency, real talk, and solutions that work.

And now—here’s a little personal update.

Yes, I’ve Been Moving Too!

This summer, my own family completed a household move. Don’t worry—I’m still local and very much available for our amazing clients in HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) and the Annapolis Valley! But I wanted to share a bit about the move because even as a move expert with military family experience and countless client moves under my belt, this one came with its share of curveballs.

When Experience Meets Real Life

As someone who’s helped manage thousands of moves—packing, sorting, labeling, managing service providers, and project managing from start to finish—I’ve got the tools and systems to make a move efficient. But here’s the truth: even with the best preparation, things don’t always go perfectly. And that’s okay.

During our own move (a household of four adults), we hit a few snags:

  • Our mover injured a muscle early in the day. Thankfully he was okay and kept going, but it naturally slowed things down. We were incredibly grateful for his dedication.
  • Juggling everyone’s individual needs—making sure each household member had their essentials packed and accessible before and after the move—was more demanding than expected.
  • We prepped food and snacks in advance, which made a huge difference:
    • Breakfast at Tim Hortons
    • Sandwiches and snacks at the house for lunch
    • Dinner out to keep our energy up

It may sound small, but fueling up properly kept us moving—literally.

  • We also faced schedule disruptions: time off work, last-minute coordination, and then…a family emergency hit just one day before the move. That was extremely tough. It shook us and forced us to regroup quickly as a team to get through it.

Why I Share This

I want my clients and followers to know this: even the most organized plans hit bumps. It doesn’t mean you’ve failed or that things are out of control. Life happens. What matters is being flexible, knowing your limits, and asking for help when needed.

That’s why I do what I do—for families, professionals, seniors, and military households. Whether you’re planning a move, overwhelmed by clutter, or simply don’t know where to start, I’m here to make the process easier, lighter, and tailored to your life.
